Synthesis and nanodelivery strategies for new therapeutic tools against MDR tumours

The main objective of WG2 is to identify, via design and synthesis, new bio-active compounds that target multidrug resistance (MDR) tumours and to formulate them using nanocarriers in order to improve their solubilisation, delivery, selectivity and anticancer action using passive or active targeting, via the optimisation of pharmacokinetic properties. The identification of new substances (novel anticancer agents, natural compounds…) as modulators of MDR in tumour cells and the realisation of new pharmacological tools (nanoparticles, liposomes, self-assemblies prodrugs…) will proceed via a study of structure-activity and structure-property relationships and the clarification of MDR mechanisms. Tools and expertise will include the use of contemporary methods of synthesis and the interpretation of biological data (computational chemistry, QSAR, molecular modelling, molecular dynamics…) in order to optimise existing leads and select validated, promising and innovative pharmacological targets.
