30th Annual GP2A Medicinal Chemistry Conference at Trinity College, Dublin – Ireland, 24-26th August 2022
The final date for abstract submission for posters and oral communications is 3rd June. You must be registered for your abstract to be considered for acceptance. If you are not submitting an abstract, the final date for registration is 31st July.
Niamh O’Boyle, a STRATAGEM member is part of the local organising committee. The conference is an event of GP2A (Group for the Promotion of Pharmaceutical chemistry in Academia) and not a STRATAGEM event.
The registration for the 30th edition of the 30th Annual GP2A Medicinal Chemistry Conference at Trinity College, Dublin – Ireland, 24-26th August 2022 is open.
This year the conference will be held in the heart of the capital city of Ireland, Dublin. Trinity College Dublin is Ireland’s oldest university and warmly welcomes you to join us from 24th – 26th August.
Speakers: There is an exciting line-up of speakers from across Europe. The preliminary program is available here.
Registration and fees: Registration can be achieved via the YAPLA platform. You can pay either by credit card or bank transfer. The fee includes the welcome reception on Wednesday evening, lunch on Thursday and Friday, and coffee breaks on all days. Fees are: PI, professor, lecturer, postdoc: €290; PhD, master students: €190. Optional extras: The conference banquet (€60) and a walking tour of Dublin (€18) are optional extras. The banquet will be on Thursday evening in the Abbey Tavern, Howth. The walking tour is on Thursday after conclusion of the conference talks. You can select these during the registration process.
Wednesday morning workshop for early career researchers (free): Dr Darren Fayne and Shubhangi Kandwal will host a hands-on workshop for 30 GP2A attendees, providing an introduction into the ligand-based and structure-based drug design capabilities of the MOE software suite. We are grateful to the Chemical Computing Group for providing licenses. Please register in advance and note that places are limited to 30. When: 9am-12:30pm Wednesday 24th August 2022 Where: Level -2 PAC room, Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute (5 min walk from conference venue).
Poster and oral communications: The abstract template is available on the GP2A website. The organising committee will select 11 abstracts from early career researchers to share the stage with the keynote speakers for oral communications. There will be poster and speaker prizes from our sponsors.

Accommodation: Some suggestions for accommodation are available on the GP2A website. There is a big American football game, the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, happening in Dublin on August 27th. There will be a fantastic atmosphere in the city but we recommend booking your accommodation as soon as possible as 40,000 spectators from overseas are expected for this match. ‘Visit Dublin’ is a good place to start to find out more about Dublin: https://www.visitdublin.com/.
